Dr. Christoph Schewe M.E.S. holds the position of a full visiting associate professor for European and international economic law at the faculty of law of the University of Latvia in Riga. His research focuses on European law, international trade and investment law and international dispute settlement. In these fields of interest he regularly publishes articles, participates in international conferences and teaches specialised courses.
One of his current research activities is part of the INTLAWRUSSIA-project of the faculty of law of the University of Tartu, Estonia, financed by the European Commission where Dr. Schewe investigates Russia in international economic law. This project corresponds with a current work in progress on Russia in international disputes. Working for the University of Latvia and as a visiting professor (“Langzeitdozent”) for the German academic exchange service (DAAD) he is active in international academic cooperation and networks. Furthermore, he regularly organises conferences, workshops and guestlectures at the faculty.
